Preaching at Knox College
It was a joy to preach at Knox College in Toronto, Ont.
The last time I preached at Knox College was 27 years ago when the senior class preached during the last semester before graduation. I was a nervous wreck 27 years ago, and now 27 years later, I felt the similar emotional nervousness as I had decades earlier. As i sat in the pews with my former classmate, Laura, I felt like I was going to be graded and evaluated on my preaching.
I preached on Matthew 22:15-21 and shared how we are all created in the image of God and this will make all the difference in the world.
After I preached, it was wonderful to be greeted with warm compliments and kind responses to my sermon. I felt warmly welcomed back to Knox College. I was happy to meet some of the Knox College faculty who are powerfully impacting the church and the world.
After worship, it was a joy to do a book signing! I was overwhelmed with gratitude for the warm welcome and reception from Knox College. It was a great homecoming!
